<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield member covering the face of a wearing person and a protective headwear provided with the shield member, effective for avoiding the accident of sliding a flying object on the surface of a shield plate and contacting with the body of the wearing person in the case of hitting the flying object against the shield plate placed at a covering position. <P>SOLUTION: The shield member 5 of a helmet 1 is formed of a transparent or translucent body and curved outward to the direction of a side of the face and curved outward from the upper part of the front of the face toward the lower jaw. The lower end of the shield member 5 is extended forward below and thinned toward both side parts of the face to form a bill 17 which is long at the center part of the face.
