<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict update of firmware, depending on a type of the firmware. <P>SOLUTION: A device can restrict update depending on a type of firmware, by switching between restricted update processing (first update processing) updating the firmware if an update ID is received from a terminal device 30 and non-restricted update processing (second update processing) updating the firmware regardless of reception of the update ID, depending on the type of first firmware 20 to execute update processing.
