<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent moisture from entering a combustion chamber of an engine by detecting intrusion of water into an intake duct to close an intake port, and to prevent engine damage. <P>SOLUTION: The engine intake device includes an intake duct and a movable member. The movable member is provided inside an intake duct for introducing sucked air from an intake port opening toward the front of a vehicle into the engine. The movable member is provided with a ventilation opening having the same shape as the intake port. The movable member is formed so as to be lowered with the increase in moisture amount accumulated at the bottom of the movable member and raised with the decrease in the moisture amount. The movable member is raised to an opening position so that the intake port overlaps with the ventilation port during the normal time. When the movable member is lowered to a closing position from the opening position, the intake port is closed by a sidewall of the movable member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
