<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound useful as a renin inhibitor and represented by formula (1), or to provide a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound. <P>SOLUTION: The compound represented by formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is provided.
