Disclosed is a method for predicting the prognosis of sepsis, characterized by measuring sCD14-ST in a sample. sCD14-ST, which is a substance to be measured in the present invention, is a superior marker than procalcitonin which is a known marker for the prediction of prognosis in a sepsis patient.
