<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire having such a scale that it is not peeled in a cooling process after hot-rolling or during storage and transportation and is easily peeled during MD, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The steel wire contains 0.05-1.2% (meaning mass%, and it is the same for chemical components hereinafter) C, 0.01-0.7% Si, 0.1-1.5% Mn, equal to or less than 0.02% (excluding 0%) P, equal to or less than 0.02% (excluding 0%) S, equal to or less than 0.005% (excluding 0%) N, and the balance being iron and inevitable impurities. The steel wire has the scale whose thickness is equal to or larger than 6.0 μm and equal to or smaller than 20 μm, and vacancy whose equivalent circle diameter is equal to or smaller than 1 μm in the scale is equal to or smaller than 10 area%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
