<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that can grasp the corresponding positional relationship between a photoacoustic image and a visible light image in a photoacoustic imaging apparatus for acquiring the photoacoustic image and the visible light image. <P>SOLUTION: The photoacoustic imaging apparatus includes: an acoustic wave detector that detects an acoustic wave generated by irradiating a subject and an optical absorber with light; a light detector that detects a sample light generated by irradiating the subject and light absorber with light; a signal processor that generates the first data from the acoustic wave and the second data from the sample light; and a display controller that, based on the images of the light absorber, positions and displays the photoacoustic images generated from the first data and the visible light images generated from the second data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
