<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in correcting the phase of a metabolite spectrum. <P>SOLUTION: Based on the chemical shift of a metabolite to be observed, the transmission frequencies f<SB POS="POST">m</SB>of the RF pulses P<SB POS="POST">1</SB>, P<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, and P<SB POS="POST">3</SB>of a metabolite sequence M are set to frequencies corresponding to 2.6 ppm. Meanwhile, the transmission frequencies f<SB POS="POST">w</SB>of the RF pulses P<SB POS="POST">11</SB>, P<SB POS="POST">12</SB>, and P<SB POS="POST">13</SB>of a water sequence W are set to frequencies corresponding to the chemical shift 4.7 ppm of water. By setting the transmission frequencies in such a manner, the metabolite sequence M and water sequence W are performed.
