<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear wheel anti-rotation device for a wheelchair that eliminates the risk of falling, is moved even by folding, safely releases the rear wheel anti-rotation device, eliminates individual adjustment, and is inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: The anti-rotation device includes: a hook 3 that is rotatably supported by a rotation shaft and rocks between a lock position for locking a spoke 7 by invasion to a rear wheel 110 of the wheelchair and a release position for saving from the inner part of the rear wheel and releasing the lock of the spoke; a spring member for normally energizing the hook toward the lock position of the spoke; a footrest that is turned between a horizontal state and an erection state and functions as a foot placement base in the horizontal state; and a cable for connecting the hook to the footrest. When the footrest is in the erection state, the hook is turned to the lock position for locking the spoke via the cable.
