<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain measurement device and a strain measurement method capable of increasing the measurement range while maintaining the resolution. <P>SOLUTION: A first camera device 11 takes images of a test body SM before and after being applied with an external force to a test body SM having plural marks M as an image before being applied with the external force and an image after being applied with the external force. An expansion and contraction ratio of the test body SM is calculated based on a reference distance between a position of one mark M in the plural marks M as a tracking mark Mc and a predetermined reference position, a position of the tracking mark Mc in the image before being applied with the external force, and a position of the tracking mark Mc in the image after being applied with the external force. In the case when the tracking mark Mc is positioned within a predetermined end area in the image after being applied with the external force, a mark M, which is different from the tracking mark Mc in the plural marks M and positioned out of the end area, is set as a new tracking mark Mc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
