Disclosed is a gas engine system comprising a control unit (6) provided with: a first determination unit (102) which determines as a first determination on the basis of pressure information whether or not gas pressure is less than set pressure when it is recognized that a gas valve (4) is closed; a second determination unit (105) which determines as a second determination on the basis of the pressure information whether or not the gas pressure is at least the set pressure when the control unit recognizes that the gas valve (4) is opened, in a case where it is determined in the first determination that the gas pressure is less than the set pressure; a start-up unit (101) which makes the first determination and the second determination executed before the start of operation of a gas engine (2) when receiving a start-up command; and an operation starting unit (110) which opens the gas valve (4) and starts the operation of the gas engine in a case where it is determined in the first determination that the gas pressure is low and it is determined in the second determination that the gas pressure is at least the set pressure.
