<p>To improve the value of a liquid crystal display panel as a commercial product by eliminating a step between a protection board and a glass on the surface of the liquid crystal display panel, said step being generated due to thickness of a black mask. This invention is a method for forming a light blocking black mask at the periphery of a display region of a display panel configured to radiate light from the rear surface, said display panel being in a display device formed by laminating a transparent protection board on the surface of the display panel. The method is characterized in that the black mask is formed by forming a recessed portion having a predetermined width in the display panel and/or the protection board, and by disposing a light blocking member in the recessed portion. The light blocking member may be formed by attaching a light blocking sheet material or by applying a light blocking coat material.</p> |
