An on-board hydrogen storage system and process are described. The system includes a variable concentration slurry storage system that stores a slurry containing a first concentration of a hydrogen storage material in a carrier fluid and a reactor that reacts the slurry containing a second concentration of the hydrogen storage material and releases hydrogen as a fuel to hydrogen powered devices and vehicles.
