<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a display control device which prevents wasteful power consumption at a light source unit when displaying a display target image in a 3D mode regardless of its data format. <P>SOLUTION: A display control device 100 controlling a display 101 operating in a 2D mode or a 3D mode comprises: an adaptation processing unit 120 for, when the display 101 is operating in the 3D mode, comparing a first image displayed on the display 101 and a second image displayed on the display 101 to determine whether stereoscopic vision effect can be obtained when the first image and the second image are displayed on the display 101; and a backlight control unit 140 for, when a determination result by the adaptation processing unit 120 is false, controlling a backlight 20 to decrease brightness of the backlight 20 lower than when the determination result is true. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
