<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a stopper pin from interfering with the mounting/demounting of a door body on/from the frame of a sliding door by reducing the size of a closer body storing a slider, a fixed member, an elastic member, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding door has the stopper pin 11 on the door body 1, and the fixed member 20 and the slider 22 movable relative to the fixed member 20, on a side frame 3. The slider 22 has a turnable trigger cam 21a connected to the fixed member 20 via the elastic member 23. In the state that the door body 1 is opened, the trigger cam 21a is locked to a locking portion 24a of the fixed member 20, and it is unlocked when the door body 1 is moved in the closing direction until the stopper pin 11 engages with the trigger cam 21a. The slider 22 is moved with the elastic force of the elastic member 23 to close the door body 1. A shock absorbing mechanism 40 is provided on the further other side than the elastic member 23 for applying a resistance to the movement of the slider 22 relative to the fixed member 20.
