<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial coupling type optical device capable of avoiding an increase in insertion loss due to foreign matter adhesion at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: An optical element and a temperature variable element fixed on a base material are accommodated in a housing. A heat conductive medium is disposed at a position avoiding an optical path of light transmitted between the optical element and the temperature variable element and is brought into physical contact with the optical element and the temperature variable element. A thin film layer performing gettering of organic matter and a moisture content is formed on a surface of the heat conductive medium. A temperature difference between individual elements is decreased as a result that heat generated by the temperature variable element controlled to a high temperature when an optical device is activated is transmitted to the optical element through the heat conductive medium. In addition, the organic matter and the moisture content vaporized in the housing are removed in the thin film layer by means of gettering. Hereby, a configuration of the optical device, in which foreign matter can hardly adhere to and accumulate on surfaces of the elements positioned on the optical path, is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
