<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber reinforcing heater which enables an operator himself or herself to select opening/closing patterns of a first lid part for covering a sleeve storing groove and a second lid part for pressing an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber reinforcing heater 6 comprises: a base part 12; and a lid part 23 for covering the sleeve storing groove which stores a fiber reinforcing sleeve covering a fusion splicing part of the optical fiber, attached to the base part 12 so as to be able to open and close. A pair of fiber holders 19 for holding and fixing the optical fiber are provided on both end sides of the lid part 23. The fiber holders 19 are attached to a fiber storing part 31 so as to be able to open and close, and comprises a lid part 33 for pressing the optical fiber against the fiber storing part 31. A changeover lever 34 capable of moving in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve storing groove is provided on the upper face of the lid part 33. A pin 36 moving in conjunction with the changeover lever 34 is built in the lid part 33.
