PICKING SYSTEM AND PICKING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picking system and a picking method capable of recognizing each picking object from plural picking objects such as randomly placed medicine and picking the same.

SOLUTION: A picking system includes: an image input means 10 that inputs an image including plural picking objects; a template storage means 16 that stores template images or area of the respective template images based on each kind of the picking objects with respect to the plural picking objects; an object area extraction means 12 that extracts an area of a picking object from the images input by the image input means 10; and an identifying means 15 that identifies the respective picking objects using an evaluation function including a first term of a difference between an area of a rectangle which circumscribes with an area of respective picking objects and an area of respective picking objects and a second term of a difference between an area of the template image of the respective picking objects and the area of the respective picking objects.
