This rotating armature unit is provided with: a rotating armature that has an annular stator and a rotor that is provided inside the stator, and a power converter that has an annular first casing and a power module that is housed inside the first casing and which is integrated with the rotating armature by stacking the bottom surface of the first casing in contact with the top surface of the stator. The power converter has a first cooling passage that is formed annularly inside the first casing. The power module has a heat-radiating section that is provided inside the first cooling passage so as to exchange heat with a coolant that flows inside the first cooling passage.
