<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a television and an electronic equipment in which a case can be formed thin and compact while improving heat radiation performance of a light source module. <P>SOLUTION: The television is provided with a case having a metallic front cover with an opening installed and a metallic back cover combined with the front cover. A liquid crystal panel having a display screen exposed from the opening, a light guide plate facing the liquid crystal panel at the back of the liquid crystal panel, and a light source module which irradiates light on the light guide plate from the surroundings of the light guide plate are housed in the case. A frame which surrounds the light guide plate is housed between the front cover and the back cover. The frame has a light source support part made of metal which supports the light guide plate and to which the light source module is thermally connected.
