<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner excellent in working efficiency when rotating shafts provided at the rear end of a vertical wind directing plate are rotatably journaled by spindles provided at struts between the upper wall and lower wall of a blowout port. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes: a suction port 2; the blowout port 5; the plate-like struts 6 provided between the upper wall 5a and lower wall 5b of the blowout port 5; and the rotating shafts 13a of the vertical wind directing plate 13 rotatably journaled by the spindles composed of spindle pieces 11 provided at the struts 6. The rotating shafts 13a are provided at the rear end of the vertical wind directing plate 13. The spindles extend downward from lower portions of front ends of the struts 6.
