<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold monitoring apparatus capable of stopping the operation of an injection molding machine when operation abnormality is generated and capable of continuing the operation of the injection molding machine when molding abnormality is generated. <P>SOLUTION: The mold monitoring apparatus is equipped with a monitor camera and a control mechanism. Primary reference image data obtained by imaging the molding surface of a movable mold in a state that a molded product is held in a molding area after the completion of mold opening operation and secondary reference image data obtained by imaging the molding surface of the movable mold in a state that the molded product is released from the molding area after the completion of molded product projecting operation are preliminarily recorded on the control mechanism. In the control mechanism, the molding surface of the movable mold after the completion of mold opening operation is imaged during the automatic operation of the injection molding machine to acquire primary monitor image data which is in turn compared with the primary reference image data. When the primary monitor image data coincides with the primary reference image data, the operation of the injection molding machine is continued and, when the primary monitor image data is different from the primary reference image data, the primary monitor image data is compared with the secondary reference image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
