<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a power- and space-saving high-resolution Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) which measures time difference between a start signal and a stop signal. <P>SOLUTION: The TDC is realized by connecting in series n modules M<SB POS="POST">1</SB>to M<SB POS="POST">n</SB>which perform binary search in the time domain.
