CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC STRUCTURE OF MNK-1 PROTEIN AND MNK-2 PROTEIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline human Mnk-2 protein, a crystalline human Mnk-1, and a method for producing those preparations.

SOLUTION: There is disclosed a crystalline human Mnk-1 kinase having space group P43212 and unit cell dimensions of a=93.5 Å, b=93.5 Å, and c=175.2 Å. There is also disclosed a method for producing the crystalline human Mnk-1 kinase preparations, wherein the Mnk-1 kinase is expressed as a fusion protein in Escherichia coli and the crystals are grown by using a vapor diffusion deposition process.
