ENGINE SYSTEM USING BROWN GAS, SHIP COMPRISING THE SAME AND ENGINE OPERATING METHOD USING BROWN GAS

PURPOSE: An engine system using a brown gas, ships having the same, and a method driving an engine using the brown gas are provided to prevent the risk of explosion by resolving the brown gas into liquefied oxygen and hydrogen. CONSTITUTION: An engine system(100) using a brown gas comprises a brown gas generator(110), a cold box unit(120), a liquefied oxygen tank(130), a liquefied hydrogen tank(150), a hydrogen heater(156), an oxygen heater(158), a gas mixer(160), and a brown gas injector(190). The cold box unit resolves the brown gas into liquefied hydrogen and liquefied oxygen by cooling the brown gas generated from the brown gas generator. The liquefied oxygen tank and the liquefied hydrogen tank are supplied with resolved liquefied oxygen and hydrogen from the cold box unit. The oxygen and hydrogen heaters respectively generate the hydrogen gas and oxygen gas by heating the liquefied oxygen and hydrogen. The gas mixer mixes the hydrogen gas with oxygen gas at the ratio of the brown gas. The brown gas injector injects the brown gas supplied from the gas mixer to the engine.
