PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic determining device and system for a race in which the accuracy of a time base direction is made high similarly to the case of monochrome in a color line sensor with detection elements arranged in 2 columns. SOLUTION: The color electronic determining device for the race performs imaging on the goal line of a race track through a slit, continuously displays the linear images linearly imaged at a fixed slit interval on a monitor, and thus obtains an arriving order determining image. In the color electronic determining device for the race, input light inputted through the slit is diffused by a division line in an optical low pass filter or a diffusing lens, each column of the line sensor with detection elements arranged in 2 columns. is irradiated with each input light, and the output of three primary colors (R, G and B) of the line sensor with detection elements arranged in 2 columns is combined to attain the color image for determination.
