PURPOSE: A device for sterilizing dishes is provided to prevent ultraviolet rays from radiating through the inlet of a chamber by positioning a barrier, which secludes an ultraviolet lamp, and the inlet of the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A device for sterilizing dishes comprises a conveyor(100), a chamber(200), an ultraviolet lamp, first and second barriers, and first and second gates. The ultraviolet lamp sterilizes the dishes in the process the dishes passes through the inner space of the chamber. The lower parts of the first and second barriers seclude ultraviolet rays radiating from the ultraviolet lamp with being extended downwards more than the ultraviolet lamp. The first and second gates open the inlet and outlet of the chamber if the radiation of the ultraviolet is stopped.
