PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for repeatedly transmitting a symbol in a wireless communication system are provided to maintain compatibility with a conventional wireless telecommunication system by transmitting a frame with symbol repetition. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter generates a first signal field(S1100). The first signal field is an L-SIG(Legacy Signal) field. A second signal field is formed by reiterating a symbol of the first signal field(S1105). A second signal field is an N-SIG(New Signal) field. The second signal field is formed into a structure of including repeated symbols through a modulation method. A frame including the first signal field, the second signal field, and a data field is transmitted(S1110).
