PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent moving image noise rejection device and method by which variation of luminance is not determined as noise even when, for example, automatic exposure does not successfully function. SOLUTION: A differential circuit 142 receives input of the present image and an image one frame before the present image and outputs difference between them to a noise determination part 144. The noise determination part 144 performs noise determination from differential results to calculate a value to be subtracted from the present image. A shape determination part 156 simultaneously performs shape determination from pixels before and after the present image and pixels before and after the image one frame before the present image and performs correlation determination of the shapes in images between frames by a correlation determination part 158. Then, the correlation determination part 158 performs control so that proportion of noise reduction to the present image becomes small when there is correlation between the shapes.
