[Also in Group XXVIII] In a fuel injection pump, a maximum fuel stop 2, comprises a housing 6, a plurality of spring- loaded push pieces 7, 8 extending through one side thereof and each having a shoulder 9, 10 on the portion within the housing which is presented to the other push pieces, the shoulders being at different distances from their inner ends respectively, and a catch member 13 between the shoulders, such that upon depression of any one push piece the catch member will retain it in the depressed position and release a previously depressed push piece. The push piece is connected to the regulating rod 1 by a sliding abutment 5. In a modification, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the third push piece may provide an excess fuel limit to facilitate starting. Again, the abutment member may be omitted and the regulating rod connected to the appropriate push piece. |
