<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter having a light shielding projection for controlling the alignment of a liquid crystal formed with high processibility and preventing light from leaking when the color filter is used in a liquid crystal display device and black is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter is provided with: a base material; a colored layer formed on the base material; and the light shielding projection for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal. A recessed part is formed in the colored layer and the light shielding projection for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal is formed in the recessed part. The thickness from the surface of the base material to the top of the light shielding projection for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal is made larger than that from the surface of the base material to the surface of the color filter where the recessed part is not formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
