<p>A touch sensing panel arrangement for a display screen includes a panel (102) that has electrically isolated conductors (103) crossing each other at intersection points and a touch detector (104). The touch detector detects a reduction in energy transferred by capacitive coupling between the conductors that cross at the intersection points, a reduction in capacitively coupled energy detected at a given intersection corresponding to a user touch at that intersection point. Each of the electrically isolated conductors includes a conducting wire individually insulated with an insulating coating (of e.g. polyurethane, polyester, polyesterimide or polyimide). The wire may be copper, nickel, tungsten or similar or may be a plated wire, (e.g. gold plated tungsten core). The panel may be non-planar. The conductor array may be positioned on an adhesive layer (501b, figure 5), adjacent to a protective substrate (501a, fig 5). The wires may be positioned using a plotting machine (503, fig 5).</p> |
