Producing tetraalkyl bisphosphate, comprises: (a) reacting a tetrachloro-bisphosphate compound with at least one alcohol; (b) reacting the reaction mixture obtained in step (a) with at least one base containing salt (I), when at least 50% of phosphorus-chlorine groups present in the tetrachloro-bisphosphate compound are reacted in step (a); (c) precipitating at least one portion of a salt (II) formed in step (b), as a solid; and (d) separating the solid (II) obtained in step (c) from the mixture. Producing tetraalkyl bisphosphate, comprises: (a) reacting a tetrachloro-bisphosphate compound with at least one alcohol; (b) reacting the reaction mixture obtained in step (a) with at least one base containing salt of formula ((Z(n +>)) a(X(m ->)) b) (I), when at least 50% of phosphorus-chlorine (P-Cl) groups present in the tetrachloro-bisphosphate compound are reacted in step (a); (c) precipitating at least one portion of a salt of formula (Z(Cl) n) (II) formed in step (b), as a solid; and (d) separating the solid (II) obtained in step (c) from the mixture. Z : cation; n : charge of cation; X : anion; m : charge of anion; and a, b : same number with a condition that nx a = mx b. |
