SELF DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM OF RAW WATER PUMP FOR MARINE ENGINE

PURPOSE: A failure diagnosis system of a water pump for an ocean engine is provided to prevent a water pump from malfunctioning and to prevent a rubber impeller from becoming thermal-deformed. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an engine of main or auxiliary machineries for ocean is as follows. Whether the temperature of an ocean water pump housing or cover is more than A° or not is determined(S2). An engine firstly drops down to idle RPM(Revolution Per Minute) and an alert warning sound and an alert failure cod are generated if the ocean water pump housing or cover is more than A°(S3). After the first measure, whether the temperature of the ocean water pump housing or cover is more than B° or not is determined(S5). Te engine is secondly stopped, the alert warning sound and the alert failure code are generated if the temperature is more than B°(S6).
