METHOD FOR ESTIMATING CHANNEL BASED ON VARIABLE STEP SIZE

PURPOSE: A method for estimating a communication channel based on a variable step is provided to estimate a blind channel by using a channel coefficient of an updated adaptive filter. CONSTITUTION: A first error signal is calculated from a channel correction signal(S10). A cost function is calculated from the combination of calculated error signals(S20). The calculated cost function is differentiated with a channel coefficient of an adaptive filter(S30). A next channel coefficient is calculated by adding a change value of the channel coefficient, generated by mixing the differentiated cost function with a variable step coefficient, to a current channel coefficient of the adaptive filter(S40). A square value of sum of the calculated error signals is compared with the square value of the sum of error signals calculated by using the channel coefficient every hour(S50). The above processes are repetitively performed by applying an updated variable step coefficient(S60).
