PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for repairing and maintaining a touch screen are provided to effectively implement a separating operation with respect to a combined display panel and touch panel when the touch screen requires repair and maintenance. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen is fixed on a stage(301) of a constant width. A steel wire(303) of a constant thickness is installed to cross the upper side of the stage such that the steel wire secures pre-set tension. The steel wire passes through an optical adhesive layer between the touch panel(201) and the display panel(203) of the touch screen. The touch panel is separated from the display panel. The steel wires reciprocate, and the stage moves to the steel wire direction at a constant speed.
