NUCLEAR REACTOR PLANT WITH HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT AND TOOLING MANAGEMENT FACILITIES

A nuclear power plant has a vault for housing a nuclear reactor. The vault comprises a containment wall extending around the reactor. The plant further comprises a hallway adjacent at least one side of the vault. The hallway has an outer wall. Two containment penetration passageways are located in the containment wall for permitting access between the vault and the hallway. Access doors are located in the hallway outer wall for permitting access into and out from the hallway. A hazardous waste processing building and a tool management building each share a corresponding access door with the hallway. This permits hazardous waste to be removed from the vault and tooling to be moved into and out from the vault through the at least one containment penetration passageway, along the hallway and through its corresponding access door into the hazardous waste processing building and the tool management building.
