The device has oxygen concentration acquisition devices (74, 76) for obtaining in-cylinder oxygen concentration at predetermined timing during time period of fuel ignition. The fuel is injected by post injection until an end of combustion of the fuel. An injection volume adjustment-device adjusts a main injection amount and a post injection amount based on the obtained in-cylinder oxygen concentration. A heat discharge amount calculation unit calculates heat release rate in a cylinder (14) based on in-cylinder pressure that is detected by an in-cylinder pressure sensor (66).
