摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing a pseudo contour which tends to be generated in image data whose luminance is gradually changed depending on areas like shading, while the pseudo contour tends to be generated in the image data whose luminance is gradually changed depending on areas.

SOLUTION: By controlling noise reduction intensity indicating the degree of noise reduction to image data on the basis of a luminance change rate indicating a change amount of the gradually changing luminance of the image data and reducing noise of the image data on the basis of the controlled noise reduction intensity, the pseudo contour is suppressed.
