<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect monitoring target devices (register information related to monitoring target devices) with minimal setting without unnecessary packet transmission. <P>SOLUTION: A network monitoring system includes: the plurality of monitoring target devices allocated in a monitoring network; and a monitoring system for managing the plurality of monitoring target devices in a centralized manner. In the network monitoring system, a method for registering the information related to the plurality of monitoring target devices includes: in the monitoring system, distributing from the monitoring system to the overall monitoring network an added proprietary message in an OSPF routine protocol applied to the monitoring network; and in a monitoring target device having received the proprietary message, requesting the monitoring system to register the information related to the monitoring target device of concern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
