<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life light-emitting element, a long-life light-emitting device, and a long-life electronic appliance. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting element includes a first electrode, a first layer, a second layer, and a second electrode in this order. The first layer has a light-emitting property, and the second layer includes a first organic compound and a second organic compound. The first organic compound has a hole-transporting property, and the second organic compound has a hole-trapping property. The second layer contains the first organic compound more than the second organic compound.
