<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, which makes it possible to surely avoid the stoppage in the overlapped state in the engine which will stop in the overlapped state where both of an intake valve and an exhaust valve are opened with high possibility if applying the conventional stop position control method. <P>SOLUTION: A throttle valve is closed after a stop instruction of the engine (S14), and when an engine rotational speed NE becomes lower than a predetermined engine rotational speed NEICOFPRE and a stage number STG is "0", just after starting an intake stroke in any cylinder, the throttle valve is opened (S11-S13). Thus, an intake air amount of a last intake stroke cylinder which is in the intake stroke upon the engine stoppage is increased, torque in the reverse rotation direction just before stoppage of the engine is reduced, and the stoppage in the overlapped state is avoided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
