<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus that can separate and remove a deteriorated toner from a developer. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developer holder that forms an electrostatic latent image on the surface thereof, develops the latent image with a charged toner, extends along the surface of an image holder holding the developed image, holds a developer containing the toner on the surface thereof, and carries the developer in a direction intersecting the extending direction to develop the latent image, a charged matter holder that holds a charged matter, charged to polarity opposite to that of the toner by friction between it and the developer carried by the developer holder, at a position coming into contact with the developer, to adsorb the toner on the held charged matter, and a recovery unit that recovers the toner, adsorbed on the charged matter, together with or separately from the charged matter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
