<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in the resistance of a nickel positive electrode to secure sufficient battery capacity even after repeated pulse charge/discharge cycles with a large current. <P>SOLUTION: In an alkaline storage battery 10 of the present invention, aluminum (Al) is contained in a hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode 12 and Al is also contained in a nickel positive electrode 11. In a state where a prescribed charge/discharge cycle is completed, an Al content in the nickel positive electrode 11 is 0.25% by mass or more relative to a positive electrode active material, and in powder x-ray diffraction of the positive electrode active material using Cu-Kα, the half-width of the (101) plane peak for Ni(OH)<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is controlled so as to be 0.5(°/2θ) or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
