<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator having a large deformation response, using a cationic conductive polymer electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: An actuator comprises a pair of electrodes facing each other and an intermediate layer disposed between the pair of electrodes, and is bent and displaced by applying a voltage to the electrodes. The intermediate layer includes: a cationic conductive polymer electrolyte containing an ether bonding moiety and an anion moiety in its molecule; and a weakly acidic substance interacting with the ether bonding moiety. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
