<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing generation of damages on a surface of a fixing member caused by paper powder or the like with neither increasing the size of a device body nor using other members. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: sheet conveyance means for conveying a sheet on which an image is to be formed; an image forming part for forming an image by developing an electrostatic image formed on an image carrier with toner and transferring the formed toner image on the conveyed sheet; and a fixing device for fixing the toner image on the sheet with a heating member for heating the sheet having the toner image transferred thereon and a pressing member for pressing the sheet toward the heating member. The image forming apparatus forms on a top end margin or a rear end margin in the sheet conveyance direction a cleaning image pattern for removing foreign matter attached to the heating member and heats the sheet with the fixing device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
