This X-ray CT scanner comprises: an X-ray source; a wedge that is positioned between the X-ray source and a subject, and on which a shield for shielding a portion of the X-rays is formed; a wedge drive unit for moving the position of the wedge; and a system control unit for controlling the wedge drive unit during a scanning period, and for controlling the position of the wedge.
