A motor stator includes a plurality of separate core segments, a plurality of coils, and a fixing ring. Each core segment includes a yoke and a tooth extending from the yoke. The yokes are connected to form a substantially circular core, with the teeth extending inwards. Each coil is wound around a corresponding tooth.
