The vibration damping device (1) has a damping mass (4) such as a damping plate made of metal or plastic, which is mounted against a vehicle part. An elastic spring arrangement is made of elastomeric spring and is coupled with the damping mass in fixed manner. A vehicle-part side thin-walled carrier plate (2) such as a support plate, and optionally an inner fitting such as an inner ring are provided for a fixed coupling to the vehicle part.
