<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically and stably fix an implant to a bone. <P>SOLUTION: An open-pore biocompatible surface layer for the implant is arranged over a virgin surface of the implant. Pores of the open-pore surface layer are connected to form a coherent pore network, and the surface layer has an internal surface area of 0.06 μm/μm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or more, preferably 0.035 μm/μm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or more, especially 0.025 μm/μm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or more measured by an image analysis as a 2D-boundary line per unit of surface area in a metallographic microsection at 100 times magnification.
